Statistical region – abortion data are classified by region of the healthcare institution according Cabinet of Ministers Order No. 271 “On statistical regions of the Republic of Latvia and their administrative units”.

A state statistical report “Report of hospital work”, Medical Birth register, Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (CDPC) of Latvia.

Obstetric surgery and ectopic pregnancy data according to National Statistical Report "Report of hospital work", Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 720 “Rules on standard forms for official statistics in the field of health care'' Annex 7 “Report of hospital work”.

The information shall be provided once a year by the hospital institutions.

Data of caesarean sections and perineotomy, episiotomy according to the Medical Birth register, as well as live births data used in the calculations.

The Register contains information on newborns and their birth conditions. There are included data on all newborns born in medical institutions in Latvia and as well as out-of-hospital (including planned home births), in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 328 "Medical Birth Register regulations".
