Discharge – is the conclusion of a period of inpatient care, whether the patient returned to his home or was transferred to another inpatient facility. This indicator represents the total number of completed inpatient care episodes during the reporting year. Individuals may be counted more than once if they complete multiple episodes within the year.
A bed day – is a day during which a person is confined to a hospital bed and which the patient stays overnight in a hospital.
ICD-10 code – diagnosis for treated patients are coded according to the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems 10th Revision (ICD-10).
