DEFINITIONS

Forensic expert-examination - scientific and practical study of objects and materials which is performed by a forensic expert by using a method registered in accordance with the procedures laid down in the law in order to answer the questions posed by a person ordering the expert-examination by providing substantiated conclusions.

Forensic expert – a person who has special knowledge and experience in a certain field of science, technology, art or craft and who has obtained a forensic expert certificate.

The object of the expert-examination shall be the natural person indicated in the decision regarding the performance of an expert-examination, the medical documentation thereof, criminal matters, administrative violation cases or civil materials, as well as, if necessary, other objects, the research of which may provide answers to the questions raised in the decision regarding the performance of an expert-examination.

Psychological expert-examination - a procedural activity performed by a forensic psychology expert following a decision of the person directing the proceedings within the framework of a criminal or civil case.
An expert-examination shall be performed on mentally healthy persons, in such cases where issues arise in the framework of criminal proceedings or civil proceedings which require expertise in judicial psychology.
