Indicators are calculated only for children who are aged 6 and 12 during the reference year. The information covers children for whom dentists provide information.
Permanent teeth KPE Index. Number of (caries + fillings + extracted) permanent teeth divided by the number of patients aged 6 or 12 years.
Deciduous teeth KPE Index. Number of (caries + fillings) decidous teeth divided by the number of patients aged 6 years or 12 years.
Patients with orthodontic abnormalities. The number of patients with orthodontic abnormalities in each age group, divided by the total number of patients seen in each age group and multiplied by 100.
Patients with Pathological Periodontal - The number of patients with abnormal periodontal in each age group, divided by the total number of patients seen in each age group and multiplied by 100.
Statistical region – antenatal care data are classified by region of the healthcare institution according to Cabinet of Ministers Order No. 911 “On statistical regions of the Republic of Latvia and their administrative units”. Until 2024 region of the healthcare institution was classified according to Cabinet of Ministers Order No. 271 “On statistical regions of the Republic of Latvia and their administrative units”.
A form “Report regarding the operation of dentistry” in accordance with Annex 5 of Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 720 of 27 November 2018 “Regulations on sample forms of official statistics in the field of healthcare”.
Information is submitted once a year by dental institutions.
Information for 2011-2016 has been compiled based on information provided by dental institutions in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 10 of 6 January 2009 “Regulations on State Statistical Reports in the Field of Health Care”.
Information for 2017 has been compiled based on information provided by dental institutions in accordance with the transitional provisions of the Statistics Law.
Information for 2018 has been compiled based on information provided by dental institutions in accordance with the form “Information on the work of dentists included in the Official Statistics Program”. Due to the fact that in accordance with the final questions of Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 720 of 27 November 2018 “Regulations on Sample Forms of Official Statistics in the Field of Health Care” Annex 5 comes into force in 2019, in order to ensure the implementation of Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 683 of 21 November 2017 “Regulations on the Official Statistics Program for 2018–2020” for 2018, the form for 2018 corresponds to the form of Annex 16 of Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 10 of 6 January 2009 "Regulations on State Statistical Reports in the Field of Healthcare".
Information since 2019 has been compiled based on information provided by dental institutions in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 720 of 27 November 2018 "Regulations on Sample Forms of Official Statistics in the Field of Healthcare".
